Major Price Changes to Donor/Sponsor/Ads 01/10/12, 10:00:03 PM



Yep, we dun did it finally. Prices and minimum advertising time have been permanently reduced to a ridiculous extent. Aside from VERY generous staff members that have been picking up the entire bill each month, we've had no donors or sponsors lately... but we have got to receive donations to stay alive and relying on one person is just not fair.

WoW-V.com will be transferring its domain registration from GoDaddy to NameCheap in the next few hours. Whether this will cause any down time or not I'm not sure, but I'll keep monitoring the progress to make sure nothing gets screwy.

Why are we doing this, you may be asking? Because GoDaddy was not only pro-SOPA, but it was one of the main contributors to writing it. As Vampiric Dust posted a few days ago, we are very much anti-SOPA (http://stopcensorship.org/ for more info), and GoDaddy's half-assed attempt to say it is no longer in support of the act is just pathetic. We urge everyone with hosting or domain name registration to move from GoDaddy's services.
